This morning I read this interesting article on the Republic. In times of difficulty finding (and keeping) a job, precariousness of employment relationships, difficulties for young families to the fact that husband and wife work in different places is something I do not give so sporadic.
ISTAT defines it "Commuters of the family," a phenomenon that in Italy today is almost two and a half million people, of which 650 thousand are stable nuclei 'families at a distance ", with numbers in constant growth, and where women away more and more.
In addition to this, in big cities, families in which at least two parents left home very early, by train or car to reach work and comes home very late, by train or car, even in these cases at least during the week, the couple's relationship is very loose. For those with children is even more difficult. Especially if you live in the city where there are no other support they would need (grandparents, uncles, friends). Difficult and expensive, just like in the stories told in.
But then just to have a child a couple impute difficulties, inconvenience and cost. It then makes every effort to devote all possible time. Are the difficulties of my generation: a lack of shared daily life, family relationships are made of moments, the desire to improve the quality of life, intolerance of all that hinders these efforts (traffic, quality of services, etc...)
