WithMyBike: Kanaalroute

Another nice ride about 15 km from Brussels, simple and interesting. Route entirely on paved road (a dirt road, short stretches). The name says it all, Kanaalroute : Starting Vilovorte (if you want you can go by train, bike in tow), is a long stretch along a waterway at a certain time- cross it with the characteristic bridges with roads that rise and then fall in-roads with little or no traffic. You go through, farms (see below, some meetings ....), And small parks, and then return for a short distance along the ring of Brussels, go to Grimbergen (good beer here) and head back to Vilvoorte.
Path of about 40 km flat, easily reducible, but at all times. Suitable for all. And to all bicycles.

It was a long time since I ate a pizza. But last week in our brief presence in Italy, in Sanremo, we tried a pizza. We asked some local merchants: Ocean Blue or Shu 'Noseda, at least in the downtown area.
I do not know if the second name and 'Neapolitan enough, probably not, but we trust the advice.
The entry does not understand that we are dealing with only a pizzeria. It 'a lot more, restaurant, lounge bar, American bar. Which maybe makes you think that maybe the pizza might be not so good. In the sense that it is not 'the only specificity of place.
The local and 'interesting, I think especially in the evening in summer. It 'a big veranda open to the sides (including outdoor seating on the terrace) just a stone's throw from the Casino of the Ligurian town, at the beginning of "being high". The kitchen and 'sight, and this' a good clue. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant menu is not 'very extensive, but each proposal in its formulation and explanation of the ingredients and' tempting. But, in fact, we are for pizza. The angle of pizza 'to view, fireplace (another good clue). We are served immediately and remain open-mouthed and 'really great! But do you eat in a moment, good mozzarella pasta is not too high. In short ... .. if you go looking for a good pizza in San Remo, and that 'a good address ... ..

InMyBike: Witloofroute

Witloofroute is a nice bike ride of 39 km to a few kilometers from Brussels. The tour begins at Hoftafe leaving the motorway towards Antwerp. Leave your car in the station car park, great place to take the legendary trail (well marked, almost impossible to get lost).

The route is really beautiful and varied: you leave the main road almost immediately, however, cycling, to commune with nature and greenery in residential areas of these small countries in the region of Flanders, Brabant , just north of the capital.

Travel quiet and charming, you switch from road to forest, paved, the trail along the canal. They meet castles, pastures with horses, houses (villas more ...) beautiful (... but they do work? ...). The silence is broken only by other cyclists that tour. Or from the noise of the animals around you. Sympathetic to the hare passed me ....

It 's all plain that the 39 km run away quite easily. I have them with road bike paths, but honestly, and in the dirt in the middle of the woods is not the best. A mountain bike or even a city bikes are recommended. But you can do, in fact, with a racing bike. just be careful not to drill .... If you want to take it easy, though, because you are family through many villages and as you can imagine, everyone has a beer and a place to grab a bite. A lunch break in one of these places or picnic along the way allow you to break your journey. The limit along the road you can find vending machines and soft fruit. Support continues through the journey.

In short, I recommend it. I also recommend to do it quietly, looking around. A tip alone when no longer see the signal means that you miss a turn or that, look at the beautiful houses, maybe you have missed one ... .. can happen.
